The MN Spoken Word Association (MNSWA) produces the Urban Griot Radio Show on KMOJ Sat Nights 10pm-Midnight , and several groundbreaking events, productions, conferences in the Twin Cities. It maintains an artist roster of musicians, poets, spoken word artists, hip hop artists, and artist educators. Artists are encouraged to stay connected with this resource organization and email your details to info@mnspokenword.org. It puts out a newsletter reaching over 2000 listing local and national events...to join the list, simply email the organization. It is also home of Youth Liberation Poets ensemble ...some of the hottest youth poets and mcs performing around town. MNSWA has been around since 1999 producing the Singers of Daybreak Spoken Word conferences bringing the Last Poets, Carl Hancock Rux and others and continues to grow and become a national name.
