Blue Buddha is an innovative blend of soul, rock and jazz with a presence of passion, beauty and strength. His music has wonderful changes that are fresh and interesting. When you listen to Blue’s music you feel the evocation of spirit and understand better the human condition.
Social causes that Blue has supported through his performance are Amnesty International, Critical Resistance, and NORML. He has also entertained at Pride in both San Diego and San Francisco.
Buddha has shared the stage with great talents like Ledisi, Roberta Donnay and Annie Sprinkle. He’s also worked with Dax Pierson (Themselves, Subtle), Steve Harris, Peter Arnold, Mansoor Ahmed, Carlos Pena, Nate Monkey Greenberg and Andy Zamenes. Blue recently finished his first commercial with director Edwin Heaven.
Blue helped start and then hosted an open mic for 3 years. He produced and managed the Soul of Pride African American Stage for San Francisco Pride 2003 & 2004. Blue MC’d the main stage at the Monterey Rock and Art Festival and performed there for 2 consecutive years.
Solo or with his 4-piece band, Blue can be seen all over the Bay Area. The Buddha has grooved at venues like DNA Lounge, Masonic Auditorium, Eagle Tavern, Hotel Utah, El Rio and the San Diego Opera House. He has planted his seed of love and compassion from San Francisco, Monterey, San Jose, and San Diego to Minneapolis.
Blue Buddha Band just released a live disk, From Then...Till Now. You can catch Blue belting out vocals over house tracks or rocking with the band up and down the coast. Keep your eyes peeled for a tour.
