Galvanic Alien

Tamara Kachelmeier began her musical career at the age of 6 with the piano. Her formative years were spent studying music in St. Peter. After graduating from high school, Tamara decided she needed more stimulation and attended Berklee College, in Boston. In the midst of school, a major car accident changed her life and she returned to St. Peter. Music became the outlet she needed to cope with her emotions. After healing, she moved to Minneapolis and attended Music Tech. Currently, she is writing music and teaches piano, voice, and guitar.

Megan Scott began her musical career as a cellist in Fargo, North Dakota. She was classically trained at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a BA in cello performance. She has played with the Duluth Symphony orchestra, Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and the Fargo- Moorhead Symphony Orchestra. Her musical endeavors include a recording with Val on ‘the Stars on the Rock’ CD and Aquasphere on ‘Heard in a Dream’ CD. Currently, she is free-lancing, teaching cello, and taking more lessons.

Megan and Tamara began their collaborations in the winter of 2000. Tamara’s band had an ad in the Citypages. Megan tried out and was accepted. Unfortunately they disbanded a year after. For a short time they were in search of other musicians, but no one seemed to fit. So, they decided to be a duo and write music together.

The name came from a nightly visit from a little green man named Jabakaru. This alien implanted a chip amongst the jargon in her brain causing her to compose messages to the mortals of Earth. Galvanic means stimulating or stimulated as if by electric shock, startling or convulsive. Alien means strange, not natural, foreign, or an outsider.

Our goals are to inspire others to think about their environment and question what they are taught. We desire our listeners to take a ride outside the ripples of the galaxy, in hopes that they can emotionally release the dragons from their hearts as well as empty their brains from pain of life. We hope others will use our music as an outlet for the pain of life, and comfort the human beings of Earth.
