Pleasant Stitch’s effervescent, ambient quartet includes Bob DeMaa (a former Pachyderm engineer, originally from Chicago), Will Pierce (From Minneapolis), Carty Fox (From Toledo, Ohio) and Sarah-Jane (the beautiful woman of mystery who seemed to appear out of nowhere. Which would technically be somewhere in Oregon). Bob, Will, Carty and front woman/vocalist Sarah-Jane perform with a lot of fancy, light-flashing equipment and suavely threaded clothing. Sarah-Jane’s incantations have a spontaneous flow of vocal surprises, while also united with a sassy ebb and flow in her delivery. Bob and Will stimulate the texture region of the brain through the manning of drum loops, keys, and various programmed samples. Carty, also on keys, delivers a luscious boomy electric bass in tour de force fashion, and Bob exercises the occasional guitar rhythm from the demons within. |
