cold omaha is an experienced group that has played Minneapolis venues ranging from the fine line music cafe to Lee's Liquor Lounge.
cold omaha was founded in the fall of 1994. The group debuted under the name Spank! to a packed crowd at First Avenue's 7th Street Entry.
After playing several successful shows around the twin cities, the group changed its name to Nectar. Nectar apexed with a successful show at the Fine Line Music Cafe.
In the fall of 1995, the group re-formed with a new singer as Curiosity and the Cat. After several successful shows under that moniker, the group, in 1996, changed its name to Media Darlings, and promptly won a Rev 105 contest to write the theme song for Mary Lucia's Something Else. The song never debuted as Rev 105 was shut down in the fall of 1996. Media Darlings disbanded shortly thereafter.
in 2001, the original creative element reunited, but with a new drummer. The group recorded a cd as cold omaha. |
