The trio - David Heiser, Anne Rademacher, and Steve Curtis - came together in northern California in 1994, on the heels of Anne and Steve's year in Nepal. Steve's tablas made their way onto the recordings, but the mainstay of the music quickly became guitars, lap dulcimer, and vocal harmonies.
Without hesitation, the intrepid performers embarked on a willy nilly tour of coffee shops, concert halls, and music festivals along the west coast. They also thrilled thousands of youngsters with their clever brand of kids music.
Three years, three recordings, and many venues later, the trio found themselves faced with the nagging tug of grad school. Since none of the programs were in the habit of accepting trios, the group decided to take a lengthy hiatus. Steve and Anne now make their home in Ithaca, but they have been known to meet up with David for the occasional reunion concert. David now lives in New Haven, CT, and lays down the rhythm for Minneapolis-based Pig's Eye Landing whenever he can afford the plane ticket. |
