Gentry Bronson

Singer, songwriter, pianist, band leader, producer Gentry Bronson has been compared to Tom Waits, Tori Amos, Billy Joel, David Gray, Ben Folds and Nick Cave, and throughout his music career, Gentry has been completely original, proving himself as a pop craftsman, versatile composer and rock showman.

Gentry began playing piano at age five, started singing in his first garage band at age fifteen, and moved from the Midwest to the U.S. West Coast shortly afterward. He tried his hand at jazz, spoken word, and DJing for several years before returning to what he does best – singing, playing the piano, leading a revolving cast of back-up musicians through dynamic shows of his storytelling music, and completely baring his soul on stage.

Driven by an indie ethic, Gentry has written, produced and released seven records since 2001. Three of those records were with the band he founded and led, the now defunct San Francisco group, the Night Watchmen. He has also written music for film, theatre, and dance, and has done studio work for numerous records and soundtracks.

Gentry’s two new records were completed in late 2006. No War is a three-part alternative rock record he calls my Star Wars trilogy album. And Santa Fe Sky is an ambient, instrumental album co-written and co-produced with New Mexico-based multi-instrumentalist Dave Hoover.

Gentry’s varied music releases cross over many boundaries, building fans in the alternative, rock, pop, folk, jazz and ambient genres.

Gentry has performed around the world, and his dramatic, soulful and energetic performances continue to delight audiences. And he is not slowing down.
