maddie's world starts with a little six year old girl being locked in a closet so she doesn't get in the way of drug deals. When a drug deal goes bad Maddie needs to find a place to stay. And eventually finds her grandmother. As she grows the memories of that day stay in her dreams and eventually help guide her away from following in her mother's footsteps. Her grandmother is a warm guiding figure who helps her on her journey. Eventually Maddie enters college and is again confronted with memories of drugs and abusive relationships and because of her past ghosts she realizes in time and chooses a course that brings healthy relationships, love and eventually Maddie becomes a counselor for other children in trouble. It is a heartwarming, moving, at times funny and a must see performance.
