Gregory Paul Hammond and Band

Since 2006, Gregory Paul Hammond & Band have gone lo-fi including regular full band acoustic appearances at upper midwest Borders bookstores. Fans are drawn to the group's unique blend of orignial acoustic rock, folk, pop, funk, Americana, blues, roots rock & jam band material. Ancient History: From 1997 to 2003, GPH fronted the Gin House Jed project. The band honed its roots pop/rock sound while playing both wired and acoustic shows throughout the upper Midwest. Prior to Gin House Jed, GPH fronted local alt rock band The Tremors from 1993-1994. Along with brother Tim on drums, the band featured Erik Peterson on lead guitar and Volney Hendrix on bass. The Tremors could be found performing at the 24 Bar and Fowl Play in Minneapolis. In late 1995, Tim pursuaded Gregory, brother Jon (bass guitar) and good friend Steve Napp (lead guitar) to form a new band with the intent of getting together now and then to jam. This group became known as The Jedhounds and played several shows at the Terminal Bar in Minneapolis and Ace Box Bar (now Dubliner Pub) in Saint Paul. In 1997, the band changed the moniker to Gin House Jed playing off of Gregory's childhood nickname and his affinity for an occasional gin & tonic. From 1997 to 2003, Gin House Jed could be found giggin' on a regular basis around the Twin Cities including venues such as O'Gara's Garage, Fine Line Music Cafe, Cabooze and Marios Keller Bar.
