After two years of existence, The MadHats have quickly become one of the premier live bands in the Midwest. Their high energy performances and deranged musical arrangements make them a one of a kind musical spectacle. The MadHat’s three piece lineup consists of Justin Olson on guitar and vocals, Mike Brennan on bass guitar, and Chris Tetreault on the drums. Chris and Justin hailed from their previous group Famus Shamus. Mike joined the two of them from the highly successful band, Toadstool Jamboree.

The MadHat’s music offers an original sound and blend in a mess of current pop music forms and stylings. The satirical lyrics dance through the progressive compositions, while musicianship takes center stage. Constant rhythmic and dynamic changes and blending of odd and even time signatures characterizes The MadHat's sound. A Hat’s fan describes them as being a smoothie blended on high…, alluding to their mixing of a variety of musical forms. The MadHats are a totally improvisational experiment, and their music is an intoxicating, psychedelic marmalade with a hard blues/rock bite to it. The MadHats have released an EP entitled 'Method for the Madness' and have just signed a record deal with Aberdeen Originals LLC. They currently perform around the Midwest area and are developing a large fan base that loves their music. Their current endeavors include: developing a web presence, shooting an animated music video, releasing a new album - 'Songs for the Common MANiac', and developing a more aggressive touring schedule. The MadHats are well on their way to becoming the next breakthrough artist in the world of music.
