New York City native Dr. Phil Nusbaum is an expert banjoist in many styles: Earl Scruggs, Eddie Adcock, Don Reno and Bela Fleck. Lead singer and flatpicking guitarist Steve Howard has been Blue Drifters bandleader for 16 and is a seasonsed vocal styles and contest playing workshopper. Violinist Gary Schulte, PHC veteran, is perhaps the premier jazz violinist the state. Jeff Brueske is an accomplished jazz bassist and educator in the area. The group offers scintillating improvisatory lines and pleasing vocal hamonies in jazz, Cajun, Irish, Bluegrass and plentiful original arrangements.
