They are not ones to naval gaze over how they tell the world their message; they’re more likely to break something as they try to explain it from the stage. Drawing from a vast number of influences--but with a sound all their own--WHITE LIGHT RIOT offers listeners and those attending their live performances creative, dynamic songs with memorable choruses; songs that generate emotion while stimulating thought. Put simply, it’s intelligent rock made accessible to the masses. This young band approaches their craft like seasoned professionals, and they have a driving commitment to be heard. The Minneapolis natives’ debut release, The Dark is Light Enough EP, is a collective effort between the band and producer Erik Appelwick. The EP features songs that truly capture the individual energy of these talented young musicians. Powerful drums and bass that set the foundation, together with distinctive vocals and interplaying guitar lines, reveal the unique contribution made by each member, while lyrics offer socially-aware, poetic descriptions of the human condition. It’s self-expression free of self-indulgence. And, what’s more, the energy captured on The Dark is Light Enough EP is exceeded only by the band’s live performances. |
