A longtime bassist Rod Kinny started playing in the Twin Cities in 1990 with a band called Keep Me Faithful. After the band split in 1993, feeling disallusioned he left the local scene.
He returned in early 2000 but as a solo artist. Having switched to a six string acoustic he began playing solo gigs at local coffee shops. In the fall of 2001 he began work on his dream of a solo cd. Seven Dials was released in the spring of 2002. It made it's way to many internet stations around the world to the delight of many listeners. Wonderland Robins & Blackbirds, & Dreamscape Days were the standout tracks. The later being picked up on a compilation disc from Futurama Records titled Now Hear This!
And now there is another CD about to be released. The Rod Kinny EP, a six song EP recorded at Matt Fink's Starvu Studios. With help from some outstanding musicians, Bobby Scnitzer on guitar, Noah Levy on drums, Scott Horwath & Matt Fink (aka Dr. Fink)on Keyboards. It is excellently produced with captivating songs such as One Step Closer & Mood Glow. Rod also launched his own label Our Quay Records. The Rod Kinny EP will be available October 5, 2005.
