John (Guinness) Cannaday is a 36 year old midwest native now living in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Mr. Cannaday began playing the guitar at the age of 9, and quickly graduated to the acoustic 12-string. By his mid 20's, John had become tired and bored with performing in what usually passes as music in the local venues. It was around this same period that he was exposed to Irish music. From that day, he knew that at long last, this was the music he had been searching for. Soon after, John semi-retired his guitar for the mandolin, an instrument that spoke to him on a level the guitar never could. John is nearly always within arms reach of his mandolin and octave mandolin. John is currently looking to join or help form an Irish band in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
