The Beckoning

In the year since the release of The Beckoning’s debut full-length album, Lilydale Road, The Beckoning’s tale has taken many unexpected twists and turns. Jared Boria and his line-up of musical comrades have attracted Grammy nominated Chris Cunningham (a.k.a. Neverwas) to produced The Beckoning’s next album, Air Museum. In November 2005, The Beckoning was invited to join Neverwas onstage, and their performance sealed their reputation as a creative force, able to command the attention of hundreds of rock fans with, at times, just a voice and an acoustic guitar.

Over the past two years, Jared has been hurled from his indie rock beginnings onto the world’s stage. While reaching new heights of success, the young musician remains an artist unwilling to leave his indie label for any major label’s promises.

Despite all of the recording and performing, it is Jared’s songwriting that has taken unmitigated precedence. The Beckoning’s new songs are undeniably the finest to date, in part because of the addition of Noah Locke, Jared’s childhood friend. The music has evolved with their lives, and Noah and Jared agree that their shared experiences enable them to be truthful with each other. This candor leads to music that is honest and inspired, and for the fans, transcendent of established musical boundaries.

The new songs are replete with all of the sincerity for which The Beckoning’s records have earned their acclaim, and Air Museum will provide unequivocal proof that, 23-year-old Jared Boria belongs to the lineage of great American songwriters.

Air Museum, features an array of talented musicians: Michelle Kinney of Jelloslave, Neverwas (Chris Cunningham), Greg Schutte, Brass band, and many more.
