Bringing together Minneapolis musical luminaries Michael Ferrier (electronics, sax, guitar, power tools, televisions, from the band Electropolis), Chris Cunningham (guitar, jug, banjo, bazouki, etc, former downtown NYC fixture), and James Patrick (laptop manipulations, electronic music pioneer), Improvised Explosive Device is a jug band for the 21st Century. Blending electronics with acoustic and found sounds, IED asks and answers the question 'what is music?' in new and groundbreaking ways.
