Frank Boyle and his Eminent Acoustic Entourage is a truly hip ensemble featuring the original songs of Frank Boyle and the fine musicianship of Bill Smith on harmonicas and Martin Wolfe on percussion. All three are long time Twin Cities musicians. Frank and Bill trace their mutual endeavors back to the late 70's with the Radio Rangers, a classic western swing band. Martin played many years with the Surahoolies and currently also plays with the Stearns County Pachanga Society. Their very diverse musical backgrounds are expressed in the eclectic mix of songs that comprises their repertoire, about 2/3 of which are Frank's original songs. Frank's music crosses into many different idioms and is marked by an upbeat energy and smart lyrics. This is music that really feels good. The selection of cover songs that they play runs from the Beatles to Charlie Parker, Ray Charles to Bob Wills. Their performances occasions of genuine artistry, enthusiasm and excitment.
