Andreana Cortes

Andréana Cortés writes and performs original music using lyric and song writing influences such as Sting and Alannis Morrisette while integrating a vocal style similar to Sheryl Crow. Andréana is a talented singer/songwriter and musician offering a unique writing style. Creating sounds with texture and nuance, she artfully brings balance to her soulful lyrics giving symmetry to her smooth, expressive vocals.

Born in California and now residing in Minneapolis, Andréana performs solo or with her band in a variety of venues around the Twin Cities area - from more intimate coffeehouse settings such as The Espresso Royal Cafe-Hennepin Ave, The Anodyne Coffeehouse, Borders Book Stores, Dunn Bros., Ginkgos, and The Bean, to larger venues such as The 400 Bar, The Green Room, Acadia Theater, The Lab and 7th Street Entry –where she has also opened for bands such as Sister Gin, Red Room, and Mick Sterling. Andréana has performed in venues as far away as the Kabitz Room in Hollywood and Sacred Grounds in Long Beach, California, and the Mid-Point Music Festival, Cincinnati, OH where her EP “Garden of the Gods” charted on local the radio station as well as charting at five other college radio and specialty stations around the country.

Andréana has assembled a broad sampling of original tunes for her first EP, titled, Garden of the Gods. Andréana's lilting vocals float gracefully over a deeply textured bed of powerful music. Moving from bluesy rock to sophisticated pop, her songwriting engages you. ~ Leslie Schumann, STATIC Magazine
