B!

B!

BIO 6.03

“We tried a few things our first few weeks together just to feel each other out and to see where the vibe would lead us.”

DAN KNIGHT. . . LEAD VOCALS/BASS

“The main reason we sound the way we do is because our relationship with one another is so mellow. It’s very much a band of brothers doing it together!”

MICHEAL RAUKAR . . . DRUMS

“ Our goals as a band are really simple. Knock out some fronts, have some beers, and have a good time!”

SHAUN WARE . . . GUITAR/VOCALS

When a joke turns serious the results aren’t always what you’d expect.

B was a joke between friends who wanted to form “ the black spinal tap” as a means of release from the “serious” bands they were all in. Dan and Shaun had played together in a couple of bands and were both looking to jam together in a different situation. With a couple of friends, and a few too many beers the band began to take on a serious sound. That private joke has since flourished into a three-piece juggernaut known simply as B. The trio began playing gigs within a month of forming. Mixing a handful of musical styles, personal influences, and lap dances proved successful for the group in finding it’s feet musically. Writing and performing became equal to putting on lavish and over the top productions. Gigs became steady but the band needed rest and a few moments to clear up a few prior commitments. After a short break, B reunited to find new inspiration. Not long after that, they’d need to regroup once again.

“Sometimes it’s hard to find good band members who actually understand the vision and are willing to see it through. Other times they fall in your lap and fit perfectly.”

While a fruitless search for a rhythm section put gigging on hold, B was offered an opportunity to record in Los Angeles. The end result was an 8 song EP called “DEGENERATOR”. The recording was filled with everything they’d endured. From soured relationships, to the frustrations of being unable to perform, the band wrote raw and heavy, yet remained upbeat and optimistic about the present situation. Most of the tracks were released via mp3.com where it received an overwhelming response. A few one off shows with former members and former side projects kept the guys busy but still looking. Then by chance through a few mutual friends, Mike was introduced to the band.

“We pretty much knew he was the guy after our first jam session. We wrote a song around this insane rhythm he’d put together. We were about 95% sure he was the one right then.”

After a quick audition and a short “hazing”, Mike was in and B was back stronger than ever. The new songs carry even more edge while keeping the formula that started the ball rolling and add momentum to an ever-growing fan-base. B recorded 5 new tracks and added them to the “DEGENERATOR” album and the bands sales have been on a steady climb. B will again enter the studio sometime this fall to “…pickup where we left off and just try and stick the landing!”

“See, we’re one of those bands that do this because WE love it. Our fans are beautiful and we could do nothing without them, but they only support us because they see us digging the hell out of what we do. We’ve never wanted to be more or less than whatever our full potential would allow, so we have no plans on letting up or slowing down. This is who we are!”
